Six years ago Picasso’s Training Academy became a Training Provider for the Local Authority teaching 14-16 learners from various schools around the Wakefield area. This course is designed to give the students and insight into the Hair and Beauty Industry. Due to the success of this project Susan Tomlinson the owner of Picasso’s made the decision to move the business from the town Centre to Ossett. The new Academy opened in September 2010.

Training Courses

Our tutors are dedicated in providing highest standards of instruction in all necessary theory and practical skills. Over the last six years we are proud of the relationships we develop with our learners.

Our aim is that learners have the opportunity to achieve to the highest level ensuring all barriers to learning are removed.

Second year learners do have the opportunity to offer certain services to clients and this is shown separately on the price list from Picasso’s.

The new state of the art purpose built spacious Salon and Training Academy has given Picasso’s the opportunity to increase numbers of learners and the number of private courses delivered.

Due to the demand of learners wanting to stay on at Picasso’s and have continued progression and continuity in their education. Currently the private courses include Level 1 in Nails Hair and Beauty Level 2-and 3 in Beauty and Nail Services these are for any age group from 16-60.

The next development for Picasso’s is to deliver NVQ Level 2 in all areas, for post 16 Learners, Picasso’s are hoping to link up with one of the 6 form Schools in the area to ensure funding from Government, this will then enable Learners from surrounding areas the opportunity to have a progression route but who do not wish to travel to the other side of Wakefield.

Beauty Treatments

Picasso’s are not just a training academy we also have a working salon offering a variety of Beauty and nail services it is important to all the consultants that their clientele of five years moved with them. This has proved to be successful, as not only do the clients have free parking, the prices are reflecting the lower overheads however the treatments are still to an extremely high standard. The Salon is a separate relaxing environment where clients can enjoy treatments of their choice.
